The Rev. Dr. Frederick H. Giese

The Rev. Dr. Frederick H. Giese supports the vibrant ministry of St. Matthew’s as Teaching Pastor where he preaches monthly, leads the Thursday night Bible Study MOJO (Men of Jesus Obviously), and serves on the Board of LACO (Lisbon Area Christian Outreach).

Dr. Giese served our country as a Navy Hospital Corpsman and with units of the United States Marine Corps. He received two Purple Heart medals for wounds received in combat in 1968.  After retiring from the Navy in 1988, Dr. Giese became an Occupational Hearing Conservationist and Manager of the Audiology Department at the Brunswick Naval Air Base.

While working in Brunswick, Dr. Giese became aware of his call to ministry.  In 2010, he received his Master of Theology degree from the College of the Open Bible Institute and Theological Seminary of Greenville, SC and in 2011 was ordained a Minister of the Gospel by his Seminary.  In 2012, he received his Doctor of Ministry Degree.   From 2012 to 2015, Dr. Giese belonged to a pulpit filling ministry in Maine until he accepted his current position at St. Matthew’s.

Dr. Giese and Vicki, his wife of over 30 years, live in Lisbon.  They have one son, Jason.

The Rev. Webster Brower

The Rev. Web Brower supports the teaching ministry of St. Matthew’s as he presents a very creative and informative children’s sermon (enjoyed by children and adults of all ages).  His artful creativity is also seen in the many liturgical banners that decorate our church. He is active in our evangelism ministry by visiting and welcoming new families in town and inviting them to our services and activities.   His outreach ministry has touched the lives of those in need in our local community.
