Local, State and Foreign Missions
- We are an active member of LACO (Lisbon Area Christian Outreach),
- St. Matthew’s supports several local ministries in the Lisbon area and greater community:
- run a small wood ministry (fuel for winter warmth),
- provide a safe place on Halloween with our “Trunk or Treat” event,
- hold a “Kids Only” Christmas Shop where local children can purchase presents for their family for a very small fee and take them home all wrapped for giving,
- and donate gifts to our local Christmas “Giving Tree” Program.
- We financially support “Teen Challenge” (addiction recovery program), Care Net (unwed and unprepared mother support), Tedford Housing (Brunswick) and support the Hope Haven Gospel Ministry in Lewiston, which offers safe lodging and support for the needy and homeless in that community.
In the International Community, St. Matthew’s parishioners provide Christmas gift boxes for the Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Child program and support special fund drives through the Episcopal Relief and Development program (for those in need throughout the world).
